Mosemarie
Boyd currently
serves as head of American Women Presidents
and its affiliated national political
action committees dedicated to electing women to the
U.S. presidency.

Sen.
Hillary Clinton, Mosemarie Boyd,
now Speaker Nancy Pelosi |
Founder
of these political groups, Boyd has led a national
campaign to elect women to the U.S. presidency—and
positions in the pipeline to the presidency—since
2000. Boyd believes that a woman will be sworn into
office as President of the United States on January
20, 2009.
Advocating bipartisanship in the campaign to elect
women to the U.S. presidency, Boyd has directed
American Women Presidents’ biennial campaign to
support Democratic and Republican women running for
governor and U.S. Senate—positions in the pipeline
to the presidency.
For the
2004 presidential election, Boyd worked to recruit
Democratic and Republican women, including Sen.
Hillary Clinton, Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, now
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, and many other
congresswomen, governors and cabinet heads to run
for president.
Glad that
a nationally-known candidate stepped forward to run,
Boyd launched Ambassador Carol Moseley Braun’s
presidential campaign at media events in Iowa, New
Hampshire and South Carolina on President’s Day
weekend in 2003. Boyd helped kicked-off the Braun
campaign on C-SPAN’s The Road to the White House
with Amb. Carol Moseley Braun.

Boyd’s
efforts to promote women for president have won
widespread media coverage, including several
national TV interviews. Boyd promoted Sen. Hillary
Clinton and Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison for president
on Fox News’ The O’Reilly Factor in 2001 and
endorsed now-Sen. Elizabeth Dole and Sen. Dianne
Feinstein for vice president on CNN’s Inside
Politics in 2000.
In
addition, Boyd has worked in the U.S. Senate for
Senator Dianne Feinstein and in the U.S. House of
Representatives for Congresswoman Corrine Brown and
volunteered for women running for Congress in Iowa
and New Hampshire. Boyd has worked for the U.S.
Government, worked abroad in Europe and Asia, and
traveled widely.
At
Oxford, Boyd studied Prime Minister Margaret
Thatcher’s leadership. Boyd earned a bachelor’s
degree with honors in American Civilization from
Brown University and a master’s degree in National
Security Studies from the School of Foreign Service
at Georgetown.
