American Women
Presidents is a national political action committee (PAC)
dedicated to electing women to the U.S. presidency.
We're already focused on the 2008
presidential race because the presidential primary campaign
moves very quickly.
Once the 2006 elections take place
this November, only 14 months remain until the critical Iowa
caucuses and the New Hampshire primary election must be won.
We're looking forward to electing
America's first woman president on November 4, 2008, and to
attending her swearing as President of the United States on
January 20, 2009.
It's never too early to start
building support for a nationwide presidential campaign.
In fact, winning candidates usually start very early.
For the 2004 presidential election,
American Women Presidents began recruiting women to run for
president in 2001. American Women Presidents also
founded Ms. President PAC in 2002 to support women
candidates for 2004.
American Women Presidents and Ms.
President PAC launched Ambassador Carol Moseley Braun's 2004
presidential candidacy in Iowa, New Hampshire and South
Carolina.
Every two years, American Women
Presidents endorses and contributes financially to
Democratic and Republican women running for the U.S. Senate
and governor--positions in the pipeline to the presidency.
With an abiding faith in American
democracy, the men and women of American Women Presidents
believe that history is bringing not only one but a
progression of women to serve as president of the United
States--just as we have seen so many women serve as
congresswomen, governors and senators.
